It’s been weird watching friends and strangers make these tapes over the last year, some obsessively (looking at you, Kelci) and others totally phoning it in (you know who you are). When I started this thing, I thought it would be a cool for music discovery. Actually, I think I discovered more about the people who contributed. It turns out that the kind of mix tape you make says a lot about you. Which is fair — they are supposed to be personal things.
Anyway, I still have no idea what’s happening with this project in 2012, but this mix tape — number fifty-two — was obligatory. So here it is. Fifteen songs I loved from the last year. Enjoy.
